Defibrillator Appeal

The Club have already provided one defibrillator to Cheddar and this is sighted outside the Riverside Inn next to Clif Street Car Park with the kind permission of the Landlord Hugh.  However we are continued to fundraise so that another one could be purchased and sighted elsewhere for the benefit of the community in an emergency.  After the installation of the first defibrillator a course was run free of charge so that anyone wishing to have hands on knowledge of how to operate a defibrillator were welcome to attend.

Cheddar Vale Lions has now purchased and installed another of the new life-saving defibrillators outside Blackford’s Sexey’s Arms, in Sexey’s Road.  The Lions hosted a number of events, including the Christmas project and Easter raffle, to raise the money for this device.  A grant from Wedmore Parish Council and from Waitrose in Wells has helped the group meet its target.  There was a free training session  on September which was well attended.
